Yery Marrero

Yery Marrero has been a Partner at Marrero Bozorgi since its inception in 2000. Her practice focuses on criminal defense litigation, with a special focus on white-collar criminal defense, murder, capital cases, drug cases, subpoena representation, grand jury representation and criminal investigations. Prior to co-founding Marrero Bozorgi, Yery served from 1989 to 1998 as an Assistant Public Defender in the 11th Judicial Circuit, Trial Division Miami-Dade county. Yery left and opened her own private practice in 1998 until she co-founded Marrero Bozorgi in 2000. From 1998 to 2001, she was appointed to serve by the Chief Judge of the Circuit as a Miami-Dade County Traffic Magistrate. Throughout her career Yery has defended countless criminal cases from misdemeanors all the way up to the most serious of felonies, including death penalty litigation. With over 100 jury trials to her credit, Yery Marrero is a skilled defender.

Yery is highly active in the wider legal community, both as a member of various professional boards and as a legal analyst and commentator on Spanish-language television. She was appointed by the governor and served numerous years for the State of Florida as a board member for the Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles reviewing DUI programs and rules. Yery also stays politically active and serves on various political committees and has offered her services as treasurer for a number of judicial campaigns. She has served as President of a community homeowners association for several years and has volunteered her time advocating for their interests before the City of Miami Commission.
