Susan Bozorgi

Susan Bozorgi has been a partner at Marrero Bozorgi since its inception in 2000. She has extensive experience in all areas of criminal defense and has focused her practice in the last few years defending clients charged in more complex white collar criminal matters such as health care fraud, mortgage fraud, security fraud, and bank fraud. She also handles special civil litigation matters that the firm takes on a limited basis. In 2009, Susan was named as a "Rising Star" in the areas of Criminal Defense: White Collar by Florida SuperLawyers.

Prior to co-founding Marrero Bozorgi, Susan served as an Assistant Public Defender in the 11th Judicial Circuit, Trial Division, Miami-Dade County from 1994-2000. In that capacity Susan tried multiple jury trials as lead counsel defending individuals charged with offenses ranging from DUI and misdemeanor offenses to charges as serous as First Degree Murder. Susan opened her own firm, Susan K. Bozorgi, PA when she first left the Public Defenders Office in 2000 and later joined forces with Yery Marrero and co-founded Marrero Bozorgi that same year.

Susan has litigated in both State and Federal Courts throughout the country. She is a member of the Florida Bar, Illinois Bar, New York Bar, District of Columbia, as well as multiple Federal District Courts throughout the country. She has extensive experience in Federal Court where she has been lead counsel for defendants charged by the United States Government with offenses ranging from medicare fraud, wire fraud and mail fraud, mortgage fraud, bank fraud, security fraud, money laundering, drug conspiracies, aggravated identity theft crimes, hobbs act violations, and gun offenses.

Susan is a seasoned litigator who currently has over 100 jury trials to her credit and counting. She defends her clients with a passion and dedication that is unparalleled. In the last five years she has brought this same passion to the civil arena where she has successfully represented individuals and companies from a diverse range of business sectors. She has handled civil litigation matters ranging from contract disputes, commercial litigation, torts, and civil rights actions.

Susan has appeared as a legal commentator on CNN Legal Briefs and guest lectured a number of times at the University of Miami School of Law relating to trial skills.
